Athletics trials for Community Games will take place for U6, 8, 10’s on Tuesday 27th May in Ardattin. Registration at 6pm. Races will begin at 6.30. U12’s, U14’s training will take place as normal from 7-8pm.

Athletics trials for U12’s, U14’s and all field events will take place on Friday 30thMay in Ardattin. Registration at 6.40pm. Races will begin at 7pm. Please note that there will be no training for U6, 8, 10’s on the Friday night.

Please note that all children wishing to take part in the trials need to register for their race on the night. Cost €2 per athlete. If club registration has not already been paid this can also be done so on the nights- €4 per child or €10 per family. Please see the board at the entrance to the track for the full list of all the events available for each age-group.

The Community Games county finals will take place on Saturday and Sunday 21st/ 22nd June. Please do not attend the trials if you are not going to be available for those dates. If children attend the trials and are put forward for individual events or relays it is important that they do attend the county finals. Community Games Swimming: Anyone interested in taking part in Community Games Swimming on behalf of Slaney Valley please contact Mary Byrne 087 9160802 before Wednesday 28th May to put your name forward. Age groups U8, 10- MUST be able to swim 1 length of 25M pool; U 10, 12, 14, 16- 2 Lengths. County finals will take place on Saturday 7th June in St Fiaccs pool Graiguecullen, Carlow. Assembly from 5.30. Doors open 6pm.

Upcoming athletics events: The Athletics Ireland Carlow County Championships will take place this Sunday 25th May in Ardattin. U7, U8,U U9,U 10, U11 races begin at 12pm. U12, U13,U 14,U 15, U16, Junior races begin at 2pm. Register 30 minutes before.

Ballon Open Sports will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd June at 1pm at James Morris Park, Ballon. See notice board at entrance to Ardattin track for full list of events. Let us know if you can attend these events.
